This week

Bing, bang, boom - another week of earnings and events. Nvidia is the star of the show but we will see what the week brings…

• Tuesday - Walmart, Home Depot, and Public Storage earnings. Walmart and Home Depot earnings are big indicators for how the consumer is feeling.

• Wednesday - Rivian and Nvidia earnings ⭐. Nvidia earnings will be the one to watch this week (also get Fed minutes today).

• Thursday - Moderna, Booking Holdings, and Intuit earnings. Also January home sales in the USA (nothing too crazy).

• Friday - Warner Brothers earnings and that’s pretty much it. This is one of Michael Burry’s recent positions - we will see what happens.

Burry Analysis

For the OG’s who remember this series, you are a real one. Let’s look at what big man Burry has been up to with his recent 13f and some possible reasons why he made the plays.

• 📈HCA Healthcare (+5.72%) - Burry could be interested in capitalizing on the amount of Medicare eligible people (the baby boomers, who are over 65, lots of em’). HCA also has an solid pipeline of nursing colleges that will feed its hospitals. Interesting add to the portfolio.

• 📈Toast Inc (NYSE: TOST) - This was an interesting one. Toast Inc. stock narrowly beat it’s recent earnings and the stock jumped over 20% (this was before Burry got in). The company specializes in restaurant technology.

• 📈Gen Restaurant Group (+150k shares) - This one is also very random (as is with Burry). Gen Restaurant Group is a Korean BBQ chain that specializes in “cooking your own” food (smart business model, lol). Management estimates a near 10x in restaurants across the USA (could be why Burry is interested).
