This week is packed, so get the scoop on what is relevant below:
Tuesday - Microsoft, Google, AMD, and Starbucks earnings 📰
Wednesday - Boeing earnings🫣and Fed Meeting ⭐ (main event)
Thursday - Apple, Amazon, Meta, and Shell earnings📰
Friday - Exxon, Chevron, and AbbVie earnings🛢
I am curious to see if the big boy oil giants are concerned about the Red Sea conflicts. Big week for the Fed, they will yap about inflation and if they mention rate cuts “soon” the markets will love it.
Now You Know
Minerals on the Move 📰
Trans-African Highway Project
Reuters released a report yesterday titled “Chinese companies to invest up to $7 billion in Congo mining infrastructure”. In this deal, China would provide hospitals and road infrastructure in exchange for a stake in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s mining entity. With 30% of the world’s mineral reserves (such as Cobalt, Copper, Nickel, etc.) located in Africa, it made me curious how they plan to extract and move these minerals.
That’s where one of the biggest engineering projects on the continent comes in, the Trans-African Highway network. This project will cost $30 billion dollars and while it is not necessarily “new”, it has been gaining traction lately with 11+ African Presidential elections this year. With over 60,000 miles of highways that will cross 18 countries, the project will be incredibly important for the economies and will allow raw materials to be transported a lot more quickly/efficiently.
Boom - now you know what is taking place behind the scenes in the country with the largest global reserves of Cobalt, Diamonds, Platinum, and Uranium.
Thank you
That’s all Folks
