Israel to Stay in Gaza in 2025

I feel like I haven’t reported on the war in Gaza for a hot minute, so here’s a lil update.

The IDF is planning on staying in Gaza through 2025 and is already increasing demolitions and constructing permanent military structures.

The Israeli military controls a sizeable amount of Gaza, and has been fucking flattening this land.

In the long term, all this land is expected to turn into Israeli settlements, in Gaza.

The war is still going on in southern Gaza though, so who knows when Israelis will actually start moving into Gaza.

Germany
German Far-Right Party AfD is Getting More Popular

Last week I told you about the collapse of the German coalition government, and the looming threat of the far-right party in Germany, the AfD.

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is gaining more support, climbing to 19.5% (+1.5% since October) in recent polls. This puts it in second place, right behind the centre-right CDU party.

This comes amid calls from the AfD’s political opponents to ban the AfD from participating in future elections. 112 German parliament members are pushing for this ban, citing its ‘anti-democratic’ nature. This would essentially remove it from the entire democratic process in Germany.

I get their concern, but doesn’t this just defeat the whole point of democracy in the first place? But in all fairness, a far-right party in power in Germany would be pretty fucking scary too, given what happened last time…

Powell’s Hawkish Tone Strengthens USD

Boss man Fed Chair Jpow has said that the economy is not showing signs that the Fed needs to lower interest rates imminently. This has led to money markets pricing in a 60% chance of a 25bps cut in December, down from 80% before Powell.

Leftists Upset Over Biden

Trump visited the White House yesterday, and Biden was actually pleasant towards him.

Biden shook Trump’s hand with a smile, welcomed him back to the White House and wished him luck for his second term in office.

Pretty strange given just a few weeks, the Democrats were calling Trump a fascist and threat to democracy.

As you’d expect, nasty leftists have taken to X to voice their anger at one of the rare moments of civil behaviour between rival politicians. They called him all sorts of unpleasant names, including calling him a ‘traitor’.

These people seriously need to get a life. Trump won. Cry me a fucking river. These people epitomise what is wrong with politics.
